Wax Foundation

Wired Foundation Wax foundation with vertical wires for added stability. It is best to cross wire in your frame as well. The wire on the foundation "with hooks" extends past the top of the wax so it can be placed under the "wedge" piece of your frame to help hold it up. Best when used with a wedged top bar and a grooved or split bottom bar. See page 26 for support pins and wire.

A smooth sheet of plastic is sandwiched between 2 thin sheets of beeswax and held together with crimped metal bindings on the edges. No wires or pins are necessary. Use either a wedged or grooved top bar and a grooved bottom bar for best results.
