This is the thinnest foundation that is used for producing comb honey in either the Ross Round system or by using a standard frame and a comb cutter. For the best results use a wedged top bar and either a solid or grooved bottom bar. Support pins can be used for extra stability. See page 26 for support pins.

Small Cell Foundation

Some believe that the 4.9 mm cell impedes the Varroa Mite's ability to reproduce and that it helps to breed a more mite resistant bee. Scientifically, these claims have yet to be confirmed. Let us know how it works for you! Most bees will need to be introduced to this foundation gradually. See page 26 for support pins and wire.
