Slatted Rack

First developed in 1900, the slatted rack is essential for overwintering and swarm control in the North. Allows the queen to lay lower in the comb and provides space for clustering which can reduce swarming. Install between the bottom board and brood chamber. Slats line up with frames so it can be used along with our Varroa Trap. Ships assembled.

Assembled Wooden Varroa Screen Trap

This screen is designed to be used with our regular bottom board (not included.) The space created below the screen allows mites to fall through to the bottom so that they cannot climb back up into the hive. Use with the replacement sticky board for easy removal of mites and debris. Note: Hive bodies must be removed to clean bottom board.

Assembled Varroa Trap With Drawer

This versatile, fully assembled varroa trap can be used with a standard bottom board or just a hive stand. Our drawer style (opens in back) means that you do not have to disassemble the hive to clean the trap. A replacement sticky board (pg. 76) can be placed inside the drawer to monitor or evaluate mite loads. Remove the drawer to have a screened bottom board.

Cardboard Winter Wrap Cartons

These specially coated, heavy-duty cardboard wraps are used to protect hives from extremely cold and frigid winds. Snug fit singles fit tightly over 2 deep hive bodies. Loose fit singles have approximately 1" (2.54 cm) around the outside of the hive bodies which allows extra room for insulation. Additional handling charge will apply if shipped via UPS.
