Hand Tools

The Hive Tool is the "must have" tool for the beekeeper. Essentially, the hive tool is a mini crow bar that is used to pry apart hive bodies and supers. Its large hooked end is ideal for lifting up frames and the flat end is used to scrape off any excess wax or propolis on the frames and hive walls. Most are designed with a nail remover so you don't have to carry an extra tool.
