American Foulbrood Treatments

Mann Lake now offers two tylosin-based treatments for controlling American Foulbrood. Mix 100 g of tylosin-based treatment in 22 lbs (9.96 kg) of powdered sugar. For smaller quantities, mix 2 1/2 tsp. with 2 lbs powdered sugar. MIX WELL! Colonies should receive three treatments administered as a dust in confectioners/powdered sugar. 2 rounded tablespoons are dusted over the top bars of the brood chamber once weekly for 3 weeks. 100 g will treat 166 colonies.

Lincomix

LINCOMIX Soluble Powder is mixed with powdered sugar and applied as a dust inside the bee colony once weekly for three weeks. The bees consume the sugar-lincomycin mixture to clean the hive. During feeding, the nurse bees pass the drug to the larvae. Similar to other drugs approved for honey bees, LINCOMIX Soluble Powder is fed in early spring or late fall before the main honey flow begins to avoid contamination of production honey. The three weekly treatments should be completed at least four weeks before the start of the main honey flow. 1920 dustings per container. Mix with 84.6 lbs of sugar.

Terramycin™ 100MR

This is a highly concentrated Terramycin™ product that uses dextrose as a carrier. Used for the treatment and prevention of American and European Foulbrood. When mixed with sugar, one 50 lb (22.65 kg) bag of TM100MR will treat 8000 colonies with 3 - 1 oz (28.4g) dustings of mixture in the spring or 5333 colonies with 3 - 1.5 oz. (42.52g) dustings of mixture in the fall. Mix 1 lb (453.59g) TM100MR to 29 lbs (13.163 kg) of sugar.

Bee-Vert Sugar

The extra fine granules in Bee-Vert Sugar are easier for the bees to process making it perfect for mixing with Terramycin™ or Tylan^® Soluble powder for your foulbrood treatments. There is not anti-caking agent in Bee-Vert so it is not meant to be stored for any length of time.
