| To
roll Honey
Wax® candles
you will need a smooth, clean work surface,
a straight edge for cutting ruler or yardstick,
and also a sharp knife or pizza cutter. Honey
Wax® sheets
are workable at normal room temperature, although
in cold weather they may need to be held near
a heater until pliable. A hair dryer may also
be used to warm the wax. Be careful not to
melt the wax! A 2/0 wicking is recommended
for candles 3 inches and smaller in diameter.
60 ply is recommended for candles 3 inches
and larger in diameter. The first roll of wax
around the wick is the most important. It should
be very tight and even.
To secure your
candle so it does not come unrolled, simply
smooth the seam down with your thumb. Since Honey
Wax® has
a natural adhesive quality, no glue is needed
to apply sequins, glitter, etc. Simply press
the material onto the wax and it will adhere
itself.
Bloom, a dusty or
frosty appearance can occur on Honey
Wax®.
This is a natural characteristic of 100% pure
beeswax. It does not harm the candle. The bloom
will disappear by placing the candle in a warm
place or warm the surface with a light pass over
the wax with a hair dryer.
Rolled Honey
Wax® candles
can be very simple or quite complicated.
The choice is entirely yours. Candles can
be straight, tapered or sheets of contrasting
shades. The sheets may also be cut into strips
which can be woven or wrapped around the
outside of the candle.
