When Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a category 5 storm, it delivered catastrophic winds and left widespread destruction in it’s wake. Jamaica is home to approximately 67,000 colonies of honeybees. Mann Lake is working alongside Greater Good Charities to provide emergency feed for colonies that survived the storm. Mann Lake has supplied 200 bags of dry Ultra Bee to supply bees with the resources they need to build back as forage has been stripped from the island. We will be continuing to work with Greater Good to supply additional feed to bees and beekeepers in need. If you would like to donate to help Jamaican beekeepers, click here.
When hurricanes Helene in Milton in the Southeast, Mann Lake partnered with Greater Good Charities, Cargill, HR Ewell Trucking, Florida States Beekeepers, Barkman Honey, and Honey Bee Genetics to supply beekeepers with supplemental feed for the colonies that survived the storm. We would like to thank each valued partner their partnership in keeping the beekeeping industry strong.
