    Southern Bred Italian Queen Bee

by Carlos Martinez on Sep 22, 2025

Queens were to arrive on 9/4/25, they showed up on 9/5/25(day late)They both showed up alive. Both installed on day of arrival. Checked queens on 9/14,25 and only one was laying. From previous exp with shipped queens if they are exposed to prolong heat they might not produce. I believe this is what happened to one of the queens.

    Queen Installation

by Ronald Cassens on Aug 29, 2025

THe installation of the queen into the hive is somewhat vague and assumes the beekeeper is not a beginner. This is my second queen be from Mann Lake; the first one didn't make and now I know why. I pulled the cork and actually released the queen. That was way too soon. If you could have a more detailed and actual steps for releasing that would be beneficial to beginners. Step 4 states to release the queen after 3 days. the next step shiuld be 5 but just states 7-10 days is the actual beginning of the releasing stage of the queen. Just a suggestion, Mann Lake seems to be doing fine without my observations. GOD BLESS!!!
