Seems to have killed most of my hive. 5 or 6 hours after application we came home and checked the hive. Bees crawling on the ground all on the hive body and upon inspection of hive dead bees piled all over the floor and even stuck on combs Removed strips and attempting to ventilate hive. Will check in the morning and see if anything lived. Won’t be recommending that’s for sure. Was a good healthy hive just started in a topbar in March. Had already combed out 14 bars with lots of brood and even capping honey. Wanted to keep it healthy by preventing more build up and we won’t need to worry about mites now. Really sad and had heard so much good about Hopguard 3 but guess I should have dug deeper in my research.

Not very effective, killed one of my queens.

by Christina on Apr 26th 2022

Started treatment on two of my hives, one of the hives has just as many mites as when treatment started 14 days ago, killed the queen and the brood the strips were in contact with. Made sure the queen was on a different frame from the strips during application time, yet she still did not survive. The second hive has slightly less mites, the queen is still alive and laying eggs but also killed the brood where the strip was in contact with. Followed the instructions they give and even watched a video they have on their website. Disappointing.

    Kills mites and also brood

by Melissa on Mar 16th 2022

Used this for the first time a couple weeks ago. There were several dead mites on the bottom board for multiple days after application. However, you have to place these in the area of the brood so unfortunately the liquid gets on the capped and uncapped brood and kills them eventually. I found several dead larva during the treatment period.
