Description

Certan is a preventative treatment that controls wax moths. It is a safe to use, harmless to honey bees, and environmentally friendly treatment that contains a concentrated solution of Bacillus thuringiensis, a micro-organism. Use after harvesting honey to kill young wax moth larvae. One application is effective against wax moths through the following season. Does not leave any residue in wax or honey.

Must be diluted in water to 5% (or 1 part Certan to 19 parts water). Once diluted, it must be used the same day for best results. In warmer climates or conditions, once dry, supers should be protected from reinfestation by being wrapped or stored in an enclosed space.

Certan is not available for distribution, sale, or use outside the US.

    I used last year on 10 Boxes after use and had no wax moths sprayed on let dry for couple days stack boxes wrapped with cling wrap they was ready for use this year

    Ignore PPE on Certan. It is their CYA.

An all natural product yet, the warnings on the bottle for PPE are many including a respirator and covering all skin. I haven’t used the product yet, I haven’t assembled all the needed PPE yet. If this stuff is so safe why are the warnings and PPE requirements like a highly hazardous substance?
