Dalan's Oral Honeybee Vaccine provides protection for the queen and her brood, to help ensure your colony is armed against the devastating effects of American Foulbrood.

The California Italian bees in this package are known for their resilience, adaptability, and exceptional honey production, especially tailored for regions with early honey flows. These remarkable Italian bees have been meticulously bred to excel in demanding environments, and their unique ability to regulate colony population based on pollen and nectar availability makes them the ultimate choice for beekeepers facing harsh conditions.

There are many factors that stress honeybee colonies. Among these, American Foulbrood (AFB) is among the most devastating of bee bacterial infections. The bacterial spores that cause AFB have been found to be present in up to 50% of hives tested in Canada and the United States. Developed by Dalan Animal Health, this breakthrough in honeybee care is the first and only biologic conditionally licensed by the USDA-CVB to help in the fight against AFB. The vaccine is safe, non-chemical, and suitable for use in organic agriculture. When queen bees are orally inoculated with Dalan’s vaccine, protection works through a biological mechanism called transgenerational immune priming (TGIP), whereby the queen passes immunity to her daughters before they hatch. The vaccine exposes queen bees to inactive bacteria, which enables the larvae hatched in the hive to resist infection.

Our bee packages are available while supplies last. The price includes shipping. For USPS shipping, packages will require pickup at your local post office.

We’ll contact you with a shipment date and provide tracking information once the bees are shipped. Cancellations are not accepted within 14 days of the bees’ estimated ship date.

Our bee package orders are prepaid. Orders are subject to a $10 change or cancellation fee after the prepayment has been processed.

Bee Insurance

There is always a risk when shipping live animals, so Mann Lake includes insurance with the purchase of every shipped package. Any package with 1 ½” or more of dead bees spread evenly on the bottom of the package is eligible for a refund or replacement. To file a claim, simply submit a photo of the shipping label and the package showing more than 1 ½” of dead bees on the bottom of the package when spread evenly across the bottom via our website Package Bee Help. We make every effort to ship replacements, if available, on the earliest ship date possible. If we are unable to accommodate a replacement, a refund will be issued within 7-10 business days of submission.
