Description

Eliminate the risk of losing your queen or having to contend with brood in your supers during extracting time by using a Queen Excluder. When there is brood in the supers it is nearly impossible to eliminate bees from the combs using a bee escape. Using an excluder will keep the brood and the queen where they belong.

We use the same great Metal Excluder, but with a wooden frame for improved bee space. This increases the overall ease of passage for workers through the excluder. Prevents the queen from producing brood in honey supers.

Much better than the flat plastic or metal ones, gives the bees a little more space and more aesthetically pleasing if you care how you hives look :-)

    Room

Originally bought the metal excluder w/o wood frame. I immediately notice there was little room for the bees seemed like they were getting smashed. Another seasoned beekeeper a friend suggested the one with a wood frame. As it gave them more room to get around and through easier. I did my hive check today and my bees seemed satisfied with it. I’d buy it again for future hives.

The dimensions of this excluder were correct but the bridle joints only had one staple in each and no glue. The staples were proud of the surface as well. I pulled the staples and added titebond 3 wood glue to the joints, creating a much stronger joint than what was provided. Might've used a few cents worth of glue, they're not big joints. Had the excluder come glued I would've given it 5 stars.
